Update: President's Day Edition

Dear readers you have probably noticed that the last couple weeks have resulted in some simple and brief posts. The problem is that the my normal writing period for blog posts has been spent going to the doctor for my physical and blood work and the dentist. The good is that my doc says my cholesterol and all that other stuff is all at excellent levels. Now if you've seen how and what I've eaten the last 35 years you would be as amazed as I was. In fact I believe I've just discovered my super power. The bad news is my teeth. This Monday I have to have the last three of my wisdom teeth removed. I assume you are probably wondering why it's taken till now to have them removed. Well, after seeing what Sam and friends of mine have gone through when they had their wisdom teeth removed, I decided to wait...and wait...and wait. I get the flop sweat just walking past a dentist office. Now I decide to ruin my three day weekend by having them removed now. Do you see the sacrifice I make for work? I could have scheduled it during a work day. I could have not been a moron.

My preparations for the blessed day has involved me stocking soup and purchasing Viva Pinata for the 360. My plan is to be drugged up enough that I will really really enjoy the psychedelic colors and bizarre animation. I also plan to attempt to blog while I'm drugged up. So, you have that to look forward to. Till then enjoy the rest of your President's Day weekend. I know I won't. What am I complaining about? While half the country is freezing their asses off I went to the beach in 83 degree weather. Yeah, life is good.

Wow...when you started talking about your wisdom teeth I had a weird flashback to when someone...one of the brothers? had his wisdom teeth out and spent a lot of time in Mandy's old room at the farm, (complaining like a wimp!) and Mom took care of him, and I think I just remember running around and harassing him. So, Sam, Ben, Ben, maybe Jennie? I apologize. Does anyone know who that was? i think I was pretty little.

If it WAS me then I'm sure not going to 'fess up now! However, having my wisdom teeth out was much worse than having a laparoscopy for endometriosis in which I was labeled 4+ (4 being the highest level of awfulness). So it COULD have been me. I do remember getting food stuck back there and it got infected. Dad had to clear it out. No novocaine. He can be downright cruel sometimes.

It was Sam.

Yeah it was Sam. And his was bad and everything, but someday (after you've had your wisdom teeth removed), you should ask me about the oral surgeon who didn't use anesthesia (sp?) b/c she was trying to get pregnant, and then didn't remember to tell her office to give me the valium ahead of time, and then talked me into novacaine only for my 4 impacted wisdom teeth. I will never forget the grinding, smell of burning flesh, tooth fragments rolling around inside me wide-gaping mouth, and the feeling of utter dread as I was positive she was dislocating my jaw and I was too scared to ask her to stop. And then the valium hit. 2 hours after getting home, as I bled all over my pillow and my Mom tried to force feed me milkshakes...

Oops. I wasn't supposed to tell you about that until AFTER you had your teeth removed. Sorry! Update: I saved this post till afterwards, just to spare you. Hope your experience was better than mine!

I had all 4 wise-teeth taken at the same time...the pain was unbearable! I was a chipmunk for about 1 1/2 weeks. The drugs are good though. Once I started taking twice the recomended dosage I was just fine! Only liquids for 2 weeks. That sucked. I was 19.

good luck!

I'm just popin by to say a quick hello/goodby while I'm off blogging for lent.

He wrote this entry on Sunday, and spoke as if he hadn't had the teeth taken out yet, so I thought it wasn't happening until *next* weekend...ohhh, this *Monday.* I see. Where are the drugged-up entries?
